Reynolds Number for Different type of Flows in Different Conditions of Flow

Reynolds Number for Different type of Flows in Different Conditions of Flow

Reynolds numbers are different for different types of flow also depending on the flow conditions.

1. Flow in Pipes:

If the flow in pipes,

For Laminar Flow, the Reynolds number is Less than 2000

For Transition Flow, the Reynolds number is between 2000-4000

For Turbulent Flow, the Reynolds number is Greater than 4000

2. Flow Between Parallel Plate:

If the flow between parallel plates,

For Laminar Flow, the Reynolds number is Less than 1000

For Transition Flow, the Reynolds number is between 1000-2000

For Turbulent Flow, the Reynolds number is Greater than 2000

3. Flow in Open Channel:

If the flow is in an open channel,

For Laminar Flow, the Reynolds number is Less than 500

For Transition Flow, the Reynolds number is between 500-2000

For Turbulent Flow, the Reynolds number is Greater than 2000

4. Flow-Through Soil:

If the flow-through soil,

For Laminar Flow, the Reynolds number is Less than 1

For Transition Flow, the Reynolds number is between 1-2

For Turbulent Flow, the Reynolds number is Greater than 2
