present in concrete.

There Are Three major types of honeycomb are follows-

3. Large size honeycomb: honeycomb is deeper than 25 mm and the steel bar has clear visible.

Causes for Honeycomb in Concrete:

• Not proper vibration during concreting.
• Not provide sufficient cover to reinforcement bars.

• Presence of more percentage of the big size of aggregate in concrete.it may prevent concrete to fill narrow spaces between the reinforcement rods.
• Use of very stiff concrete.
• This is due to the jumbling of reinforcement of beams and column bar at one place.

Honeycomb Concrete Repair And Remedies:

• change water-cement ratio.
• bleeding in shuttering.
• proper vibrating in concrete in depth.
• provide proper cover to steel bars.
• poor quality sand.
• Remove loose concrete.
• Clean any loose material from the area.
• Wet the cleaned area before applying the repair material.
• Fill small voids and cracks.
• If the honeycomb covers a large area, you may need to make a patched hole to ensure proper bonding.
• If formwork is not used, apply suitable repair material such as non-shrinkage, high-strength grout.
• The filling process should be in a 15 mm thickness layer if the depth of honeycombing is greater than 5 cm. It is recommended to wait for 30min before applying the next layer.
• Provide texture and color required to match the surrounding concrete.
• remove formworks after 12 hours of repair based on the type of material used.
